PS3 loses up to $306 per unit, Xbox 360 profits $76 per sale

Sony is taking a considerable loss on each PlayStation 3 sold. Costs for the 20GB model exceed the suggested retail price of $499 by a total of $306.85, Analysis estimates for the 60GB version, costs exceed the $599 price by $241.35. In contrast, the HDD-equipped Xbox 360 has a manufacturing and materials total of $323.30 while you’re paying $399.

Google Feedback: Was this link useful?

While searching on Google this evening, I saw something I’ve never seen before. The question “Was this link useful?” The question showed up on the search results page after I click on one of the results and then hit the “back” button on my browser.

This has shown up for AdWords links before, however this time its showing up in organic search results.

Is Google incorporating this feedback into their search results algorithms? Is this a new tactic to weed out spam? I’m sure we will hear more about this in the coming weeks.

Amazon traffic is up because of.. The Wii and PS3!

“Online searches for the video game console [PS3], increased 171 percent for the week ending November 11, 2006 compared to two weeks earlier on October 28, the research firm reported.” Amazon loves the PS3 and the Wii, mainly because they are giving the website more traffic.

Amazon To Sell Xbox for $100?

Web2.0 blog TechCrunch via digg is speculating that the price of an Xbox could drop to $100. Michael Arrington writes “If you are thinking of buying an Xbox in the next few days, don’t. We’ve gotten information that Amazon may be putting the $300 Xbox bundle on sale for $100 in the next week or so as a promotional move for the holiday season.”
